Eumundi Market
Since 1979 visitors to the Noosa region, have been enjoying a visit to one of Australia’s largest Markets, the Eumundi Market.
The Original Eumundi market started with 3 stalls and 8 visitors, and now 40 years later it has 600 stalls and precovid had an estimated annual visitation of 1.6 million people a year.
The Original Eumundi Market still holds true to it’s original ethos. Make it, bake it, sew it, grow it. It’s is the perfect location to go and hear great music, source locally made artisan treasures, and fresh produce, and gourmet food.
“Make it, Bake it, Sew it, Grow it”.
Eumundi Market is open rain, hail or shine, year-round, every Wednesday and Saturday. Most of the stalls are open-air gazebo. However, there are also some buildings and covered areas to get out of the rain, in the summer downfalls.
It’s trading hours are from 7am – 2pm on Saturday and from 8am – 1:30pm on Wednesday’s.
A visit to The Eumundi Market is a great place to get artwork, photography, homewares, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, clothing. As well as a great place to pick up some produce and sweet treats.
The Eumundi market also has a great mix of live performers and street performers. Stroll down one lane and listen to someone performing Country music, round the corner you might hear some jazz, or maybe indie/folk.
Now for me, my favorite part of any market is wandering around the food stalls. A visit here is no exception with an amazing array of food and beverage choices.
Located just under 25 minutes from the iconic Hastings Street in Noosa, at 80 Memorial Drive Eumundi.
A great initiative is the carpark, this paid parking $6 (tap and go only) has no time limit. Located on Napier Road, it aims to collect funds from the car park to support and benefit a local community group. The last time we parked we helped support Project Vietnam.
If you don’t want to pay parking their is parking on the main street, however you will need to be early as it fills up very fast.
A little-known fact about the town before you visit there is, whilst there is the famous ‘Original Eumundi Market’ there are also other multiple markets that have popped up in the area.
