As we walked through the Gates of The Great Outdoor and 4X4 Expo in Ballarat early on its opening morning, we looked around and saw that only moments after it’s official opening time, people were already beginning to stream in.
Ballarat’s “The Great Outdoor and 4X4 Expo” has been running now in Ballarat for the last five to six years and every year it keeps getting better with more and more exhibitors on site.
This year the weather is perfect for it, With warm temperatures for Friday and Saturday before a cool change hits on Sunday.
The Great Outdoor and 4×4 Expo has a huge range of exhibitors, from Caravans, 4WD, Fishing, Electrics bikes, Fire pits, Lawnmowers, Generators, Tires, Solar Panels, the list goes on. Which is why it holds such a wide appeal from young families, retirees, to people looking for their next way to explore the Great Outdoors.

Make sure you bring a little cash, whilst you can now pay with EFTPOS to enter and some stalls will have portable Eftpos machines, I found when walking around many of the food stalls were still cash only. Otherwise, you will need to leave and head across the road to the BP for the ATM to get some cash-out.
Browse through some of the Exhibitors
Photos all taken just after opening on Friday morning. Expect more crowds as the weekend progresses.
There are some great Food trucks, Coffee, Souvlakis, Potato twists, Dim Sims, and Burgers. Most of them required cash so make sure you bring some spare change.
As you walk around their are quite a few fire pits, and other stands cooking up meat, so if you enjoy meat the smell makes you hungry.
The Charcoal Pit – Souvlaki Bar
The Charcoal Pit sells Chicken, Lamb or mixed souvlaki, and a variety of Soft drinks or Water.
For the Kids!
Apart from wandering through and looking at the Caravans a favourite in our house.
There is also a Jumping Pillow that the children will love to have a play on. It wasn’t open yet on the Friday morning when I walked past, so I am not sure what price it will be.
There was a stall with free Gold mining which I am sure will be a huge hit with the kids.
So make sure you head down to Ballarat, to see “The Great Outdoor and 4X4 Expo” you won’t be disappointed.
