Halloween at Disney’s California Adventure

If you’ve seen our previous post about Halloween at the Happiest Place on Earth, then you already know that Disney takes the spooky season seriously. And at Disney’s California Adventure, there’s no exception. It’s obvious from the moment you approach the entrance, the artwork ontop of the gates drawing your eyes in and setting the tone for the season.

Buena Vista Street

Buena Vista Street is very much like the Main Street of California Adventure in function, welcoming you to the park with a beautiful array of buildings and scenery. During the Halloween time, from the statue of the Headless Horseman, to the bats decorating each building and arch, the atmosphere is specifically developed and has a spooky yet lively feel to it.

It was absolutely stunning to see in person, especially when it lit up at nighttime, and I wish I had gotten more photos.

Cars Land

At the centre of DCA’s Halloween festivities is Cars Land, which is entirely dressed for the season. The moment that you approach, you’ll see the ‘Welcome to Cars Land’ sign, welcoming you to a ‘Happy Haul-o-ween!’, and almost all the rides are also appropriately rethemed for the holiday. If you keep your eyes open, you might see Mater or Lightning, already dressed up in their costumes!

、Oogie Boogie Bash

If you have the money to spare, the Oogie Boogie Bash is an experience that I’d recommend you try at least once. A nighttime event that you have to buy extra tickets for, it’s an expensive but enjoyable experience. From trick or treat trails, exclusive characters, merch and so much more, I wholeheartedly enjoyed the experience.
